Types of Dental Fillings: Which is the Best?

Your dentist will have some few considerations before suggesting the best filling for your cavity. Consider where in your mouth, the filling is needed. You should also consider the type of fillings you want and their cost.

Key takeaways:

•Gold fillings are expensive but long lasting.

•Amalgam fillings are cheaper but more noticeable due to their dark colour; they contain mercury which many prefer to avoid.

•Composites are used where a natural appearance is desired but may need to be replaced over time.

•Ceramic fillings are long-lasting and look natural.

Allow your dentist to decide on the best one for you
